Nominees and Recipients for the 2023 Community Champion Awards

Pat Rennie (Southrey)

Pat Rennie is a kind and generous person who will collect medication for you, take you shopping and always thinks of others regarding care for the older people in the village. She also works tirelessly for St John’s Church and Southrey Village Hall.

Julie Close Mitchell (Southrey/Bardney)

Julie is very kind and is always ready to pick up shopping and tablets from the doctors and helps when you need it. Devotes her life to Bardney Church and is such a wonderful kind person.

The Ladies of Southery Church (Southrey)

The Ladies of Southrey Church who started the Pop-Up Tea Shop last year baking and giving up their Saturdays for the benefit of the community and raising over £1300 for charity.

Kelly Hudson (Stainfield)

Kelly puts her heart into everything she does and as the secretary to the Village Hall she has made so much effort to make events better. She is always willing to put 110% into whatever job she is tasked with. Kelly organises the race night which is a great success and the Christmas draw prizes she secured were excellent.

Andrea Bygrave (Southrey)

Andrea keeps Southrey village looking clean by litter picking all around the village and the lane going up too Horncastle Road, another unsung hero.

Scott Brewer (Bardney)

Nominated for all his years of hard work and support for children in the villages and schools, gym and fitness work, kickboxing training classes and summer fun events. He helps bring families and the community together.

Bardney Panthers (Bardney)

For all their hard work and effort to encourage local children to participate in sport, engage in compentitions, develop their skills and reach their full potential. Hosted the girl’s football festival.

Kerry Thorpe (Bardney)

Kerry has given so much of her time and expertise to organise a community art show and wreath making for the whole school and playgroup for the second year running. She is hugely community minded and is always thinking of ways to bring the community together. She is also really supportive of the younger generation in facilitating them to serve both our community and beyond.
