Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer Vacancy
Clerk/RFO is required for 16 hours per week. This role is office-based at Bardney Group Parish Council.
The Parish Council's responsibilities include management of the cemetery, allotments, grass cutting, and village maintenance.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated and efficient.
The Role requires;
Ability to set agendas For Full Council and Sub Committees.
To attend Council meetings every 3rd Tuesday of the month (excluding August
and December)
Have excellent communication and people skills, as you will need to liaise
with Councillors, District and County Council representatives, members of
the public, and third-party organisations both written and verbally.
To have a good knowledge of bookkeeping and budget planning.
Good organisational skills, able to meet deadlines.
Is proficient with IT including website updates.
Willing to undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required from
time to time.
Be required to also attend additional evening or daytime meetings.
Able to demonstrate knowledge of local government procedures, finance, and
law.
A willingness to attend relevant LALC Clerk training courses and/or
seminars on the work and role of the Clerk as required by the council.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be a qualified Clerk.
FOR APPLICANTS NOT CERTIFICATED in Local Council Administration (CiLCA)
there may be an opportunity to access the CiLCA training.
The post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Salary is dependent on experience and in accordance with NJC National Pay
Scales (£14.21-£19.05 per hour).
