Memorial Tree Planting Policy

Background
The Community Orchard is very popular with local residents and enquiries have been received in relation to planting a tree in memory of a loved one.
Cost
Due to the amount of administration required the standard BGPC admin charge of £29.00 will be levied per planting event regardless of the number of trees.
Trees
Strictly only fruit trees are allowed, with no exceptions.
Ashes
Strictly no ashes allowed with the planting. Bardney Group Parish Council will only grant permission for ashes to be interned in the Cemetery.
Planting times
Planting can only take place during office hours and in the presence of a representative of Bardney Group Parish Council. Appointments must be made in advance.
Supply
Bardney Group Parish Council will prepare and refill the hole, as well as supply the necessary stakes and straps. Fruit trees must be supplied by the applicant. Bardney Group Parish Council cannot accept delivery of the trees prior to the event.
Memorial Plaques
Memorial plaques are allowed however they must be small and discrete. The applicant must supply the plaque through Bardney Group Parish Council. The Parish Council reserve the right to remove the plaque at any stage due to deterioration, damage or health and safety risk.
