13-2021/22   Apologies for Absence. To receive and accept apologies where valid reasons for absence have been given to the Clerk prior to the meeting.

14-2021/22   To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Member’s Register of Interests.

16-2021/22   To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 6th May 2021. To authorise the Chair to sign the official minutes.

17-2021/22   To receive and consider a report from the Chairman of the Council. 

Paperwork has been received from the Church regarding the sheep being kept in the Churchyard.

Support is no longer required from the Parish Council regarding the state of the land at the Abbey.

18-2021/22 To receive and consider a report from the Clerk to the Council on any outstanding matters and correspondence received since the meeting of 6th May 2021.

Some of the signs which had been put up around the allotments requesting people to keep their dogs on a lead have been taken down. These signs will now be replaced with metal ones.

A conservation area has been created in the Churchyard.  Advice was taken from local conservationists.

Community Orchard – Paths have been created in the wild flower area.  A lot of positive comments have been received from people using this area with their children.

19-2021/22 Financial matters:

  1. To approve the bank reconciliation statement for April and May 2021.

21-2021/22   Ward Reports To receive ward reports from council members

Cllr Speed – Cemetery report will be presented at next full council meeting.

Cllr Waddington – carried out a survey on Sustrans with residents and people visiting the area. 

Sign on part of the walk is faded and is out of date.  BGPC are not responsible for the sign but the Clerk will contact Sustrans or Public Rights of Way team.

Traffic control ideas discussed for areas within the village. 

Idea of a cycle lane from the bridge to Back Lane was discussed.

Lack of signs within the village sign posting to points of intertest.  Clerk to look into this.

Cllr Bates raised the problems in Abbey Road especially the footpath.  This will be raised at planning by the Clerk.
