Proposed by Cllr Linton, seconded by Cllr Fleetwood and approved unanimously.

69-24/25

Receive updates from the Chair from the previous minutes.

  1. Minute ref: 111-23/24 – hedge cuttings shredding and disposal.

The work to clear the remaining cutting was awaiting the volunteers to arrange a suitable date.  A member of the public had offered to accept the hedge cuttings and branches etc. but this was subject to volunteers transporting the items to him.

70-24/25

To consider a course of action with regard to the various Cemetery maps, the Burial Registers and Exclusive Rights of Burial.

Following an issue raised by the grave digger a discussion took place on how best to mitigate the risk of this happening again.
Various Excel maps were available on the Google Drive with none being proven to be the most up to date.  Since the incident the Clerk had started a review of the Burial Register, against the map that appeared to be the most up to date and the Exclusive Rights of Burial.  An ongoing review of these was suggested by the Clerk but it was felt that it would be safer to close Parts I, II and III to new Grants of Exclusive Rights of Burial.
Previously purchased Exclusive Rights of Burial would be honoured.
Action:  The Committee RESOLVED to recommend to full Council the following amendments to the Cemetery Terms and Conditions as follows;

  1. No new purchases of Exclusive Rights of Burials in Parts I, II or III of the Cemetery.
  2. Exclusive Rights of Burials in Parts I, II or III of the Cemetery would be honoured subject to rigorous check being carried out beforehand.
  3. The Terms and Conditions to reflect that no double depth graves were permitted.

Proposed by Cllr Fleetwood, seconded by Cllr Papworth and approved unanimously.

The meeting closed at 5:50 pm
